The MA mark refers to the Coal Mine Safety Mark, and MA certification refers to the Coal Mine Safety Certification (derived from the Chinese pinyin "Mei An"). It applies to all equipment and products used in underground coal mines and constitutes a mandatory certification.
The National Mine Safety Mark Center is responsible for the supervision and administration of the safety mark for mine products nationwide, implementing a safety mark management system for products such as coal mine equipment, materials, and instruments.
As of January 1, 2002, for products subject to the coal mine safety mark management, manufacturers must obtain the safety mark certificate before engaging in the production, sale, and use of the coal mine safety mark for such products.
Mining enterprises are prohibited from purchasing and using products without a safety mark.
