When it comes to the issue of explosion-proof (Ex) certification bodies in the market, there are currently more than a dozen institutions in China that can issue Ex certificates. However, most customers only recognize institutions such as CNEX (Nanyang Explosion Protection Research Institute) and NEPSI (Shanghai Instrument Research Institute), believing that only the certificates issued by them are authoritative.

It is undeniable that these customers' requirements are somewhat reasonable. For example, as one of the earliest institutions engaged in the explosion-proof field, CNEX has been involved in the drafting and revision of domestic explosion-proof standards, and many explosion-proof technical experts have significant influence and authority in the explosion-proof field. But with the development of the explosion-proof product industry, more and more enterprise customers have entered the explosion-proof field, and the demand for the certification market has become increasingly large, which has given birth to another batch of Ex certification bodies.

Since explosion-proof products are special products installed and used in domestic special industries, the state has exercised strict control over market access. The authorization of Ex certification bodies is subject to strict and rigorous assessment. This applies not only to established Ex certification bodies such as CNEX (Nanyang), NEPSI (Shanghai), and PCEC (Tianjin), but also to emerging Ex certification bodies. Therefore, for these Ex certification bodies, the authorization qualifications for carrying out their explosion-proof businesses are the same—all are authorized by CNAS (China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment) to carry out their businesses.

At present, in addition to CNEX (Nanyang), PCEC (Tianjin), and NEPSI (Shanghai), other domestic Ex certification bodies include (but are not limited to):

At present, all domestic institutions qualified to issue Ex certificates can be inquired on the official website of CNAS (China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment).
